Father's Day Gift

So for Father's Day my siblings all made videos of them singing to Paul Simon's "Call Me Al" and we edited them all together. We had a TON of fun making the video and just being silly. Here are some pictures of us ready for our music video debut.

Conner's only job was to hold the Al sign...he had troubles.....

"Oh wait, you want me to hold something?"
"Oh here it is. Looks tasty."
"Wait I think I can do it better this way...."
 "Ah yum...much better."
"And finally I think I got it right...everyone is clapping."

And for your own viewing pleasure here is the link to our video Enjoy!!!

Busy Boy

Conner has enjoyed all of the new things and places to explore in the new house that is for sure!! He also now has one tooth in on the bottom and what looks like more on the way. He is mobile, not crawling but pulling himself across the floor currently, we expect him to be fully crawling in the next few weeks. He is a very determined little guy for sure! If he wants it he gets it! It has now made it hard to get things done since if he's playing on the floor and I'm cooking in the kitchen I now have him following me everywhere and pulling at my feet. Cute, but not helpful. Or when I shower I usually put him on the floor and let him play...this last time he got into the garbage can!! Time for a new plan!

Anyways, he's being super active and talking ALL the time! Or blowing raspberries. We sure think it is hilarious! Here he is after we'd been unpacking and were trying to keep him contained.

Eating is also a favorite part of our day because this guy is SO funny!!

Yes, the thumb is also part of the eating ritual. Unless he is SUPER hungry or REALLY likes the food and wants another bite now...the thumb goes into the mouth. SO cute.
While unpacking Conner was getting super tired so Dustin was putting up his crib while I kept him occupied....until we fell asleep on a huge pile of blankets.
Dustin is trying to speak Chinese to Conner so every now and then they watch a Chinese movie together, here they are watching "The Incredibles" and Conner was seriously glued to the computer for 45 minutes!! I tried to get a picture but he'd look at me every time he saw the camera.

New House

So recently we moved into our NEW HOUSE! It is a little farther out in Northern Virginia in a place called Aldie, just south of Dulles Airport. And we LOVE having a house! Ok so it is a townhome, but it is so much quieter, no smoker, it just feels brighter, and we even sleep better at night. However, it being brand new and us the first owners, everything that came in it was white and builder grade. Such as the $300 oven and the off white carpet in the Dining Room....yes I said CARPET in the DINING ROOM. Did they know that I have a child?? Anyways, so it needs so updates and work, and we have grand plans, just like I'm sure everyone does when they move into a new home, but we've already gotten started!!

Here are some pictures of it with furniture. That doorway is from the bottom level where the entry is along with the garage (yes we have a garage folks!!) and laundry/unfinished room.

Better view of our main living space.
This is the view directly across from the kitchen. We spend most of our time in this room.
Kitchen. See, the stove doesn't even have a way to look inside without opening the door, or a digital clock or anything, just a dial, so you have to guess that you are as close to 400 as possible. Some day....
The view from the kitchen into the Dining room/living room.
The back corner of the living room and the half bath.

 This is the entryway.
View from entering the front door. I'd like to knock out that wall straight ahead as that is the stairs up to the main level.
The laundry/unfinished room. Ultimately we want to finish this into the guest room.
Our new washer and dryer :)

Stairs going up to the main level.
As you can guess from my excitement of all things white we started painting after living in our home just over a week. Here is a shot of Dustin's feet after spending a Saturday painting.
Our Accent Wall. We will be adding a chair rail to the bottom to break up the bright colors.

Not a great picture, but the green next to the door is the color of the living room and the turquoise by the window is what we decided on for the kitchen.
We are pleased with how well this color turned out. However that ceiling is over 16 feet tall so we're still working on trying to get to that top corner....

So we're almost done with the green, still have the turquoise to go and then the chair rail but we're coming a long!! It looks so much better so make it your own!! We love our house!!
