Philly Cheese Steaks!

So last weekend Dustin and I took a 2 day trip up to Philadelphia. Some of my old roommates from Phoenix said they would be in Philly for a few days, and Dustin and I had been talking for awhile about going there for a quick trip. so away we went!

We got in Friday evening and just enjoyed some good Chick-fil-a and some good rest. It was just so nice to get away and be able to relax!!

Here we are Saturday morning with Jenn and Emily and little Brooklin where we met them for breakfast at Ihop. It was SO good to see them! I miss them so much!
Then of course we had to go back to the hotel and take a nap and eat more food, following my typical day as a pregnant lady, which Dustin was super happy to go along with. After we walked around the historic district of Philly. Dustin was excited about the cobblestones.

Outside Independence Hall. They were performing construction and they ran out of tickets for tours, but we were happy to just walk around and enjoy the beautiful day. It was perfect!
It isn't a trip to Philly without seeing the Liberty Bell!!

We also went and walked by Betsy Ross's house and a few other historic places that I'm sure are significant that I didn't know about. But here is Ben Franklin's grave.
This was probably my favorite spot. I am obsessed with old houses and historic architecture, and this place called Elfirth's Alley is one of the oldest preserved "alley's". Some of the houses were built back in 1705.
This house was even for sale and had a garden in the back, but Dustin wasn't as excited about the prospect as I was.
But we did find another little alley liked with vines and trees that was very pretty.
Dustin trying to get us some water.
Then of course it isn't a trip to Philly unless you get some Philly Cheese Steak! Dustin admits that this was the thing he was most excited about. And for a few good reason! While walking around Independence Hall we asked one of the security guards where he thought was the best place to get a Philly Cheese Steak and he said without a doubt "Go to Jim's". So to Jim's we went!

This is me waiting in line for my cheese steak at 3pm on a Saturday. But we were reassured, everyone that came out the door said it was worth the wait!!

This was great! And we LOVED them! I'm pretty sure that even though I tried very hard to eat it slow and enjoy...it was gone in 3.2 minutes. You wouldn't think it'd be that hard to make, but they sure know how to make it!!
OK, Ok, so Dustin was actually most excited about going to the Philadelphia Art Museum. It was his favorite part, and the one thing he insisted that we had to do that day. Can you figure out why??
Yes, the famous steps in Rocky 1 during his training montage. I was amazed by how many people there were running these steps! There were either weddings or people working out. I guess if you run these steps you'll be super awesome like Rocky! This was the place where they origionally had a statue of Rocky, but the Art Museum wasn't too fond of it...so they moved by the stadiums. Until of course the Rocky Foundation intervened, and asked that it be put back. Well the museum brought it back, but instead it is on the side rather than at the top of the steps.

Dustin had to run up the stairs too! See how athletic he is!

And there is the official Rocky statue. We're pretty excited about it.
And then behind the museum is tons of gardens and walkways with fun architecture, so it was fun to just walk around and enjoy the beautiful day. What a great trip!

Sarah's Engaged!!

So my little sister Sarah just got engaged a few weeks ago and she is so super cute and excited! And we LOVE Ben! He's so perfect for her and we love how happy she is. Not that she wasn't happy before...but you get it I'm sure! Anyways, everyone came over to our apartment to watch General Conference, so 11 people in our little apartment, but we have 3 couches currently and brought in our over stuffed chair and dad just needs a pillow on the floor and he's happy....it was a blast. We ate corn bread and chili and per Carter's Birthday request we also ate Cafe Rio Pork Salad.

Anyways, so in between sessions Sarah and Ben wanted to go take some engagement pictures, even though it seems to not have stopped raining here in Virginia for several weeks. So of course Dustin was super sweet and took them around our house to places where they hopefully could still get pictures in the rain.

I just think they are super cute! And Sarah's hair is awesome!

I think these pictures show their relationship the best! And Sarah is grateful for gaining a wardrobe while I'm pregnant, since she's wearing a lot of my clothes....oh one day I'll be able to wear them again!! But I'm glad they can still get some use!

So we can't wait for December 30th!! Congrats Sarah and Ben!

More Baby Bump and Updates

Ok, so here we are at 31 weeks. Things are going well for us. I have two more shifts left at the ER and couldn't be more excited to be able to be home and get things set up for our nursery, have our baby shower, and just feel more organized. Dustin and I have been "cleaning out" our home, getting rid of lots of things we won't use or that are out-dated, etc to try and make room in the spare room to fit Lil'D! So books, clothes, and all sorts of things are finding their way out of our home. We truly have been blessed and are so so excited for him to get here. I think most of all I am excited to not have to bring all the Administration work home with me so Dustin can always get my attention when I'm home rather than worrying about schedules and emails, etc. But I have truly been blessed to have this job and have a great boss!

The picture to the right is of me at 32 weeks. Dustin is always reminding me that we need to take "Bump Pictures" and I think I was feeling sassy this day, and just tired of posing for bump pictures I guess!!

Here we are watching "Thor", yes don't be surprised, we've already seen in 3-4 times, just wait until "Captain America" comes out! And yes, we have already watched the new "Avengers" Trailer that just came out, and we're both super excited. Yes, there I said it, I indulge and even enjoy the superhero obsession! It makes it fun for me too! So here we are in our living room setting up the crib.
And then we had to move the setting up of the crib to the spare room/nursery soon-to-be while it would still fit through the doorway. It is the cutest crib!!! We love it already! Even though it wasn't the easiest to set up we're sure loving it already! It did take us awhile to figure out how to set it up...but we're pros now!!
 Dustin thinking very, very hard.
And it worked!! Yeah!! I just finished sewing the sheets, so I'll post pictures of that soon!
