So recently we moved into our NEW HOUSE! It is a little farther out in Northern Virginia in a place called Aldie, just south of Dulles Airport. And we LOVE having a house! Ok so it is a townhome, but it is so much quieter, no smoker, it just feels brighter, and we even sleep better at night. However, it being brand new and us the first owners, everything that came in it was white and builder grade. Such as the $300 oven and the off white carpet in the Dining Room....yes I said CARPET in the DINING ROOM. Did they know that I have a child?? Anyways, so it needs so updates and work, and we have grand plans, just like I'm sure everyone does when they move into a new home, but we've already gotten started!!
Here are some pictures of it with furniture. That doorway is from the bottom level where the entry is along with the garage (yes we have a garage folks!!) and laundry/unfinished room.
Better view of our main living space.
This is the view directly across from the kitchen. We spend most of our time in this room.
Kitchen. See, the stove doesn't even have a way to look inside without opening the door, or a digital clock or anything, just a dial, so you have to guess that you are as close to 400 as possible. Some day....
The view from the kitchen into the Dining room/living room.
The back corner of the living room and the half bath.
This is the entryway.
View from entering the front door. I'd like to knock out that wall straight ahead as that is the stairs up to the main level.
The laundry/unfinished room. Ultimately we want to finish this into the guest room.
Our new washer and dryer :)
Stairs going up to the main level.
As you can guess from my excitement of all things white we started painting after living in our home just over a week. Here is a shot of Dustin's feet after spending a Saturday painting.
Our Accent Wall. We will be adding a chair rail to the bottom to break up the bright colors. Not a great picture, but the green next to the door is the color of the living room and the turquoise by the window is what we decided on for the kitchen.
We are pleased with how well this color turned out. However that ceiling is over 16 feet tall so we're still working on trying to get to that top corner....
So we're almost done with the green, still have the turquoise to go and then the chair rail but we're coming a long!! It looks so much better so make it your own!! We love our house!!

Great for you guys! I love your pictures and am so happy for you that you've found a place that you love, but that you can also tweek some to make it fit you better. Great job, and it looks like a nice place. :)
ReplyDeleteSoooooooooooo fun! Congrats on your awesome place! I love your paint choices. You are so good at decorating! And thanks for your call the other day - I got it, but my cell service wasn't great and we finally got electricity Sunday night. You are so thoughtful, though. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I am SO excited to see this place! CONGRATS!
