Nicki's Birthday

So I had an absolutely amazing Birthday! We didn't get a ton of pictures but I'm sure a spoiled lady with lots of family and lots of love and such amazing men in my life. Conner was the most wonderful boy on my Birthday and we made cookies and played and relaxed and Dustin got my favorite food ever. Thai food. Mango Sticky Rice and Pad Thai and Panang Curry. Yum. Life is amazing.

Here is Conner when my parents watched him when Dustin took me out for my big Birthday Date. I just love the fact that there is a little guy on such a big couch.

This is what Dustin surprised me with for my Birthday! We got all dressed up and went to Baltimore and went to this amazing Greek Restaurant and got the most amazing Lamb chops I've ever had and Scallops and then went and saw "Disney's Beauty and the Beast". This was amazing! I cried and laughed and was so amazed. This was on my list of must see musicals and so I'm grateful we got to see it.

Again an amazing Birthday. I'm spoiled for sure!

March for us!

I was so bad with taking pictures this month but we had Mom and Dad Hinton and Tiffani and Rick and Sam and Rachel and didn't get one single picture of them!!!

But here is Conner showing off for Grandma and Grandpa playing his harmonica while in his toy box.

We got this kid a basketball hoop from Craig's list and I didn't know how big it would be until we went to go pick it up. So it is a bit big but Conner seriously LOVES it and this is his number one place in the house right now. He pushes the box, gets the ball, climbs up with the ball and puts it in the hoop. Sometimes it takes him a while and he just likes to stand there and hold the ball, but it goes through eventually. What a great kid.

Not the best photos but these capture Conner so perfectly. He loves to read and will just sit and read and makes the silliest faces!

Today we went to the National Children's Museum with our friends L and K.

Conner loved it of course. Toys, things to climb and kids and then we ate good food. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get much better in his world.

Yes this kid loves computers and keyboards. He is again his daddy's little boy!

So fun and what a great day!!

First Haircut

So I finally gave in and gave the little guy a trim. He was looking pretty mullet-like and had some crazy wings over his ears.

Not of the haircut but the same night. Such a silly boy!

He didn't even like the comb! Oh dear....

Yeah, the hair needed to go!

So we turned on "Cars" and gave him a cut! Here is after. I swear I didn't nip him, his skin is just SUPER sensitive and the redness goes away in a few minutes. Poor guy got mommy's skin....

Not perfect but much better! Thank goodness for "Cars"

February and C man

Conner now wants to help and see everything I'm doing so I pull up a chair while I'm cooking and try to keep him occupied and little fingers out of where they shouldn't be. I have to juggle a lot when I have the stove on or am chopping but he sure loves to watch. Here he is "helping" me make cookies for Valentine's Day.

This kid still loves to eat. He is determined to feed himself now which has made life a bit messier and hard because he gets the food in his mouth, but always wants to use a spoon or fork and is still figuring those out. So food on the walls and in the carpet just happens around here.

He loves to come and watch mommy play basketball with the stake and also to watch daddy couch the Young Men's team.

He always falls asleep with his neck forward, wish I got him asleep but he was just waking up.

He is still SUPER happy and we sure love his laughs.

And he loves his ice cream, just like his daddy!

This is probably his favorite spot in the house still. He can climb up here by himself and just loves to talk to the mirror.

We took Conner while looking for chairs for our front room and we couldn't pass up getting a photo with this chair we found. Too bad it was sooo expensive because he loved it!

Being cool with daddy.

This is my favorite outfit on Conner. My little English Gentleman.

More cooking. He just takes spices and puts them in the mixer and is so happy!

House updates

We've been continuing to work on the house. The biggest project was finishing the entry level and installing the floor. We installed the click lock wood floor with the help of the missionaries (one of the missionaries Dad's owns a floor installation company and grew up installing floors, thank goodness for him!). We are not done with the floor, but just need to put in the baseboards. Once we finally get that done I'll post pictures of the finished product. We've already moved a lot of stuff down into Dustin's study and as soon as we get the electrical fixed from what the contractor messed up we'll get some final pictures of down there. But we're quite pleased with how it is all turning out!

Here we are one night with Dustin and me trying to finishing to install the floor. As you can guess we didn't have the best helper, but he sure had fun.

Lil'C this January

Conner is still busy as always and so much that I'm seriously behind. Here's what we've been up to lately.

Conner is running and loves to play with his dog and give lots of kisses.

He still loves to cook and play with food and help mommy in the kitchen.

He frequently goes down stairs and tries to get out the door because this kiddo LOVES being outside.

We finally finished painting his room and completed it with these awesome posters.

Thank goodness for having at least ONE room in our house totally where I want it :)

Conner seriously loves to watch his Pixar movies in Chinese. His favorite is Cars. This is how TV watching goes in our house. He has to watch it with mommy or daddy and mommy usually falls asleep.

He keeps trying to climb on to our chairs and gets stuck.

Unless we leave the chairs not pushed in all the way and this is the result. I think he's gotten how to figure out to let us know he's hungry :)
